How to Find More Fulfillment

Hey there!

We can’t control what life sends our way. But we can build a rich, full, and meaningful life, no matter what shows up.

Not sure where to start? Here are three steps you can take to start building more fulfillment into your life:

  1. Identify Your Values

Take time to identify what really matters to you. Think about how you would like to treat yourself, others, and the world. Consider what qualities you would like to embody most in your life. Your values are unique to you. Examples of common values include kindness, respect, humor, and perseverance.

If you’re struggling to identify your values, here’s one question that can help:

What would I want my friends and family to say about me at my 85th birthday party?

Consider how you would want your loved ones to describe how you spent your time, how you treated yourself and others, and what you stood for. Write down any qualities that you hope they would use to describe you, such as kind, respectful, fun, and active.

2. Determine your Focus

After you have identified your values, pick one value (i.e. kindness) and one area of life (i.e. social life) that you would like to focus on right now. You do not need to start with the most difficult area. In fact, sometimes it’s helpful to start small and work your way up to more difficult tasks!

3. Set a Realistic Goal

Identify one specific action that you can take in line with the value you have chosen. Focus on goals that you are 80% or more confident than you can accomplish. For example, if kindness is an important value of yours, you can practice this value by dropping off a coffee to a friend.

And remember: small actions make a big impact. Fulfillment is not achieved overnight. It is an ongoing process—but one that is worth every minute!

All the best,

Jayne
