Is Virtual Therapy Right for You?
In today’s fast-paced world, finding time for yourself can be a challenge. Luckily, virtual therapy offers accessible and effective mental health support - whenever you are. But is it the right choice for you? Let’s explore.
Virtual therapy may be a great fit for you if:
You value convenience.
Virtual therapy sessions allow you to receive care from the comfort of your own home, saving you time and travel expenses. There is no more worrying about long commutes or struggling to fit appointments into your already busy day.
You require accessibility.
Virtual therapy breaks down barriers to accessing quality care such as: living in a remote area, mobility challenges, lack of transportation, and/or limited child-care.
You appreciate comfort.
Some people are more at ease opening up from the comfort of their own space. Virtual therapy offers a safe environment where you can express yourself freely without the added pressure of face-to-face interactions.
You need consistency.
Virtual therapy enables you to maintain continuity of care even during situations such as inclement weather, childcare mishaps, travel restrictions, or public health emergencies.
But, can it really help?
Yes!! Research proves that virtual therapy can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy. It’s a win, win! You can enjoy the convenience, accessibility, comfort, and consistency of virtual care - while still receiving quality support that empowers you to transform your life.
How Does it Work?
Our virtual sessions are completed through the Jane App, a trusted video-conferencing platform that is compliant with Canadian privacy regulations. All you need is a smartphone, tablet or computer with a stable internet connection and a camera feature.
It is important that you have access to a private and quiet space where you feel comfortable participating in your virtual sessions. Whether it’s a room in a house, a private office, or even your (parked) car - it is essential that you find an environment that is conducive to confidentiality and focus.
Important Note:
While virtual therapy offers many benefits, it may not be for everyone. If you are experiencing severe mental health concerns that require immediate or intensive interventions, virtual care may not be for you.
Your well-being is essential. And, if virtual care does not seem as though it is meeting your needs, there are alternative treatment options available.
